Large flannel rag quilt is finished
Very warm and cozy!
instructions for baby size, just make more squares!
Approx 57 x 76"
This was so much fun to make!
I used 8" flannel printed squares in 6 different patterns, 6" white flannel squares are sandwiched in between, then an X is sewn across each square and then an inner 6" square is sewn in scalloped stitch. I sewed 1/2" seams, and when all the strips of squares were sewn together I clipped 1/4" into the seam allowances about every 1/2" and this gave it a good fray.
The quilt was washed on a 12 minute cycle in the washer, in cold water then took it outside and shook loose threads free, then popped it into the dryer and took it outside every 10 minutes to shake out loose threads again and also cleaned out the lint trap.
Took about 40 minutes to dry thoroughly then outside for one last good shake to remove threads.
I will be making more of these quilts! Fast, Easy, Warm, Cozy and just gorgeous when finished.

|Homemade Laundry Detergent|
2 bars of Sunlight Laundry Soap or Fels-Naptha
4 cups Arm and Hammer super washing soda
4 cups Borax
2 cups Oxy Clean
Grate the 2 bars of soap and mix all the ingredients together in a large bowl. I like the smell of the sunlight laundry soap but you can add 5-10 drops of essentials oils to scent your laundry detergent if desired, eg: lavender, rosemary, tea tree oil all work well.
Use 1 heaping 2 tablespoon scoop per laundry load. Add to washer as water is filling before adding clothes.
I found an old apothecary jar with a lid at the flea market and made a label for the front on the computer.
Any container with a lid will work but a pretty jar looks nice in the laundry room.
Less chemicals, better for the environment AND saves money!
